6 Month Supervised Diet- Month 3

Well, the 6 month diet that insurance requires has officially began! I am technically in my third month, hoping that the 6 month one will be completed in July. (early July). I f the world would come together and go by my plan, then I'm hoping that the surgery will be scheduled at the end of July! I am keeping my finger crossed. In two days,my husband and I head to Lexington, KY. Tuesday is the day when all of the pre-lab testing will be completed. Lucky me, I also get to see a Psychologist while I'm there! Yay me! I'm actually looking forward to going and getting everything done. That's just a huge task that I get to cross off that check list. Hopefully it will go well. I am so excited about doing this. I love reading others blogs about losing weight, especially Lap Band Gal. She's great! I love her blog, what an inspiration! Well, I'll post again soon to tell you how all the testing went. I'm anxious, but my hubby will be there to support me. That's all I need! Wish me luck! I hope everyone who is somewhere on their journey to weight loss had found other bloggers for inspiration! It's a great world! Today I am in the 3rd Month Supervised Diet. Stats Are: (brace yourself) Height: 5.3 Weight: 230 Age: 30

Introduction...sort of...

This is it…
Hello, is anyone there??? I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I’ve done gone and done it! No turning back now… I guess I should start by saying welcome, I’m grateful that you’re here.
AND
I.Need.You!
I need support, encouragement, someone to tell me whether I’m making the right decisions, guidance…
I’m rambling…
Let me start by telling you a lil’ bit about myself. I turned 30 this year (GASP), female, social worker, wife, and (most importantly) a mother. I have two of the most beautiful children in the entire world, boy and girl, and they are my life. I love them, can’t help it. They spoil me. They’re my everything. They’re also one of the main reasons why I’ve decided that it was time I done something about this weight. I’m fat. Bottom line. I’ve struggled with weight most of my life, so I don’t know what it’s like to be skinny. But who am I foolin’, I ain’t lookin’ to be sKiNny! I want to be “average”, within the healthy weight range. I want to play my son’s Wii Sport without setting off an alarm saying “You’re morbidly obese!!!” I want to ride roller coasters this summer without worrying about fitting into the seat, I want to wear a bathing suit without having to wear an ugly cover up, I want to be able to sit in ANY chair without worrying that it’s going to break (Shallow Hal anyone?), I want energy, I want health, I want a life…
On 02/20/2012, I completed an online seminar for bariatric surgery. I sent in the patient packet and insurance (Humana) information. I also sent in my PCP’s recommendation for weight loss surgery. I called today and they told me that they’ve sent the packet on to the surgical center for evaluation. The next step is that they will call me to set up the FIRST appointment, which consists of all lab work, psychologist eval, etc. It could be a couple of weeks. I’m guessing that they will send it on to the insurance company before that appointment? I have no idea… I’ll just wait (patiently) for it… (cough cough).
I can’t believe I’m doing this. I just pray that insurance will cover it, and that we can get things rolling. I understand that my insurance requires a 6 month diet (SUCKS!), but it’ll be worth it in the end.
Every fight is worth the risk if we better ourselves in the process.
Welcome in my journey! J
